Winter storm Cara hit the plains on Thanksgiving 2015, bringing many inches of rain with below freezing temperatures, creating an ice-encased wonderland. Feeding cattle was difficult, but Nature's beauty may have made up for the challenges.
Now THAT'S a "frozen pie!" COW PIE!
This is not supposed to be a water feature.
Sometimes I only see the difficulties in what Nature has given me. Ice makes walking dangerous, trees lose their limbs often causing power outages and the cattle still need fed. But the beauty of the ice sculptures today drew my attention away from my frustrations.
For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater.
Winter is a difficult season at its best! But ranch work still needs done. When others are snuggled on the couch with a day off school, ranchers are bundling up to head outside to take care of cattle who depend on us. For more info: www.KidsCowsandGrass.com
