Bernina Mountain Range
The Swiss Alps
Last weekend I decided to explore the Bernina Mountain Range in the Engadin region of Switzerland. The entire range is 20 km long and 10 km wide. It is home to numerous glaciers, the largest being the Morteratsch Glacier which together with the Pers Glacier, covers an area of 16km squared and drains into the Black Sea. Descriptions will never do justice to the magnificent beauty of this earthly wonder, so simply turn the page and enjoy the ride.....
Piz Palü and Piz Bernina frame the Pers and Morteratsch Glaciers
Berghaus Diavolezza 3000m.u.M. where you can replenish after a hike or even rest a weary head.
The majestic Piz Bernina at 4048 m.u.M.
Down the valley is Piz Murtél which is easily reached from the Corvatsch ski station.
Piz Bernina and Piz Roseg
I love the mountains and being in them, but on this incredible day I felt a burning desire to go higher.
What better way than with Heli Bernina AG
If you look closely at the horizon you can see the Monte Rose and Switzerland's tallest peak the Dufourspitze at 4634 m.u.M.
Start by doing what's necessary, then do what's possible, and suddenly you are doing the impossible.
