New Old Friends

We met Mary and Paula on a trip to Iceland last Spring. We immediately became best old friends. Mary came to Connecticut for a visit in September. What a wonderful time we had!

Our first dinner together, in Reyjakvik, March, 2015.

The first day, we took the train to New York with our cousin. Walked on the High Line, went to the Whitney, 230 5th Avenue, and dinner at Blue Smoke

Thursday, September 17, my birthday. We went hiking at Bigelow Hollow in Union, CT with Abbey and watched an eagle fly

Later, we went to my son's house. He cooked incredible pizza in his Cobb oven and Mary got to meet the rest of my family.

Coventry Farmer's Market on Sunday

Monday we went back to New Haven to get our cousin from the train. We had pizza at the world famous, Pepe's, then walked around the campus at Yale.

Another hike in the woods. This time we went to Gay City State Park in Hebron

Then we went to the beach!

Some of us might like the beach more than others!!

Dinner, we met another friend from the Iceland trip

Saturday night, we took Mary to see Waterfire in Providence. It was a wonderful night, with the smell of the fires on a cool night, the beautiful sounds of the crackling fire and music. She said this was her favorite of all her New England experiences.

On our last day for this trip, we went to meet at Mattapoisett, MA, where we met another of Mary's friends.

We shared so many laughs. We had a wonderful time. Hurry back, Mary.
