| Fate and a swan. |
| THE STORY |
I recently started obsessing over antique porcelain swans. I don't know why, but I was set on collecting them from various second hand markets. I told my aunt about it and she told me that my late grandmother also collected swans. I got goosebumps. She gave me the only swan she had left from her collection and to my shock, it was the same antique swan I had first bought from a market. It was fate. I signed up for classes with the ceramicist Tania Babb so that I could make my own swans...
It was a cold and rainy night. The rain was pouring down so hard I could hardly see as I drove. I parked my car next to the old wooden door leading to my first porcelain class. I stepped out into a murky puddle of water which soaked through my shoes and socks.
Once inside Tania gave me a hot cup of tea and homemade biscuits. We laid out my wet shoes and socks by the heater to dry.
I was given porcelain clay and started sculpting while listen to Clair De Lune by Claude Debussy.
I started creating my own sculptures...

Each piece has been a beautiful form of meditation for my soul. And to think it all started from a porcelain swan...
