TEMBO

Tanzania

Tembo is a Swahili name meaning Elephant.

We set out with #mckaylive and #thompsonsafaris to look for wildlife unaware of what awaited us but excited for the adventure nonetheless.

Serengeti is derived from the Maasai language, Maa; specifically, "Serengit" meaning "Endless Plains.

My number one goal was to see elephants on this African Safari. However, knowing the sadness that surrounds Elephants and poaching of their tusks I was unsure if we would even see any at all in such a vast landscape.

We were not disappointed!

Elephants commonly show grief, humor, compassion, cooperation, self-awareness, tool use, playfulness, and excellent learning abilities.
