One morning In Venice

This could be any morning in Venice Beach, California. This one just happened to be one when I had a camera in hand ready to capture the day.

The bones of old architecture.

Litter throughout.

Men playing in the Pacific.

Merchandise for luchadors on sale.

The dedicated graffiti walls.

Wine-o's, hobos, and cholos.

Old friends. New lovers.

"Venice was and is full of lost places where people put up for sale the last worn bits of their souls, hoping no one will buy."

Ray Bradbury

Notes: I shot the images with a Canon Rebel in 2008. Venice Beach is about a 20 minute drive from downtown Los Angeles in light traffic. Read more at
