Hello 👋🏻 Harris here. Welcome to a few (okay, more than a few) photos from my April.
April isn't exactly warm in Scotland, but it's a whole lot brighter than the previous six months. That means longer weekend walks. Evening walks. Beach walks. Exploring. Fun, basically. Here I am exploring the ancient ruins of St Andrews Cathedral.
Beach walking at Musselburgh.
Posing on some sand dunes with my Uncle Bracken. As you do...
Before you ask, yes, Scotland's east Coast is windy. #hangontoyourears
Of course, as you'll know if you read my monthly stories, there are always gates to pose at, and #doortraits to be endured, and 👩🏻 seems incapable of passing a bench without plonking me on it. #motherproblems
#doortraits have become second nature. Here I am at Newhailes House in Musselburgh.
A random door (that 👩🏻 likes).
There's even a tiny #bridgetrait 👩🏻 apologizes for this cheesy photo. 👨🏻 insisted on posing here so this one's for you Dad. That's the 18th ⛳️ at the Old Course at St Andrews behind us.
Ask any young gent and they'll tell you that it takes work to look good. You need to stay in shape (running up sand dunes is my workout of choice) and there's fur to be groomed and whiskers to be trimmed. Beard maintenance is a serious job...

April was also pretty special as the good peeps at Ruby & Duke (rubyandduke.com) asked me to be a brand ambassador, which means I get to sample a monthly #DukeBox filled with organic nibbles, handmade biscuits and fair trade toys. Including things that squeak and drive the Parents nuts. Even better, my pal Fonz @Fonz_ , who is General of the #SausageArmy, was made a brand ambassador too. 👊🏻
This brand ambassador stuff is exhausting work...
There was popcorn in this month's box. Seasoned with seaweed. 🍴
I'm gonna let you guess what the squeaky thing is in this photo...
April was also a serious month. WagAware (@WagAware) launched a fundraiser to raise money for Dachshund Rescue South Florida (@DRSFdoxies). Mum and I hadn't heard about DRSF until this fundraiser. If you head over to their Instagram page you'll find that they do the most phenomenal work. instagram.com/drsfdoxies
50% of the profits of every WagAware charm sold is donated to rescue dogs.
On 22 April dachshunds across Instagram wore green in remembrance of their fellow dachshunds who had recently passed ORTB. Wear Green Day was organised by Scrappy @scrappythedoxie in remembrance of... Dexter, Ollie, Sukie, Penny, Peanut, Guinness, Simon and Ceedee
I wore a beautiful jade mala that was given to me by my Auntie Victoria. This mala symbolises the heart chakra and love.
Thank you for joining me for my April...
Until next month Harris X
