at the Elephant Nature Park
At the Elephant Nature Park near Chiang Mai, Thailand, former working elephants are given a home. Here they can heal from their abuse, relax and be themselves.
First stop: breakfast!
Each elephant has their own mahout, who takes care of their every need (including pumpkins)
Next it's time for a walk to the river.
Bath time is more fun with friends! The elephants form small families within the larger herd.
(there are treats in the green bucket)
Of course, once bathtime is over, it's time to get dirty again.
