A tour along South Australia's

LIMESTONE COAST

This beautiful stretch of Australian coastline extends approximately 300 kilometres north-west from the Victoria/South Australia border all the way to The Coorong National Park.

Limestone is sedimentary rock formed millions of years ago from layers of decomposed skeletal and shell remains of sea organisms.

The route is dotted with beautiful old limestone walls, houses and buildings.....

...still in use and lovingly cared for......

....or long forgotten.

The alkaline conditions of limestone soils are perfect for growing the most beautiful roses.

This area is an extremely dry, arid region of Australia.

...and with a breathtaking coastline.

The Coorong, at the northern end of the Limestone Coast is an immense wetland system at the mouth of the Murray River...

...with so much to explore.

A truly magnificent road trip.
