It was the best of days, it was the worst of days.
Seventh of March Two Thousand and Fifteen. Aston Villa football club play West Bromwich Albion in a feisty local FA Cup derby. The prize, a place in the semi-final at Wembley Stadium, London.
Aston Villa were close to the bottom of the Premier League with an appalling run of losses. Expectations of the new manager Tim Sherwood were high. The fans needed a win. The fans demanded a win.
Villa Park stadium is full. Something that hasn't happened in a long time.
Delf scores for Aston Villa! 1-0
Sinclair scores! 2-0 to Aston Villa
It's near the end of the match, Villa are ahead. A few stupid Villa fans invade the pitch. The referee could abandon the match and cause it to be replayed. Other Villa fans boo those who ran on.
Thankfully the match isn't called off and continues. The ref blows his whistle a few minutes later. Aston Villa win 2-0. All hell breaks loose.
At the whistle a full pitch invasion. A mixture of passion, stupidity and jubilation is just too much for some Villa fans. [Apologies for the foul language in the background]
All together, singing... "We're going to Wembley Que sera sera"
Thanks for viewing this story. As an Aston Villa fan I am proud of the result but ashamed of those who ran onto the pitch, putting players of both teams and themselves in danger. I understand the emotional release after such a terrible season of football, but let's have some self-control and dignity. Regards, @vinay123
