I have always had an affinity for fog. It blankets the world around me and obscures the obvious. Autumn and winter are the best seasons to chase fog in Vancouver.
I wait all year for these foggy days. And sometimes I wait years to photograph a certain spot when it's foggy.
Trying to compose and shoot in the fog can be tricky. Depending on how dense and wet the fog is, you can end up with noisy looking shots. I generally always shoot with my tripod when it's foggy.
When the fog is low, but the sun is out, everything begins to glow. The cold earth warmed by the morning sun means fog.
Chasing the fog can be tricky. It has a mind of its own. There one moment, and gone the next. You have to be quick to capture your shots. I have a list of places that I visit close to home when it's foggy
