When posting to my Instagram @scottrinck, I often decide that where I was or what I was doing is immaterial to sharing the photography. At times like these, I turn to those more gifted than myself at putting words to beautiful sensations. My hope is that my photography in some way augments these lyrical thoughts. Here are some of my favorites.
"Men who look on nature, and their fellow-men, and cry that all is dark and gloomy, are in the right; but the sombre colours are reflections from their own jaundiced eyes and hearts. The real hues are delicate, and need a clearer vision." - Charles Dickens, Oliver Twist
Let it flow, let yourself go. -Beastie Boys
"But the love of wilderness is more than a hunger for what is always beyond reach; it is also an expression of loyalty to the earth, the earth which bore us and sustains us, the only home we shall ever know, the only paradise we ever need - if only we had eyes to see...The true original sin is the blind destruction for the sake of greed of this natural paradise which lies all around us - if only we were worthy of it." - Edward Abbey, Desert Solitude
We all need someone we can lean on - The Rolling Stones
"But out of all the cold darkness and glacial crushing and grinding comes this warm, abounding beauty and life to teach us that what we in our faithless ignorance and fear call destruction is creation finer and finer." - John Muir, Travels in Alaska
"Only when we get to see the aerial view will the patterns show, we'll know what to do." - Nada Surf
"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." - Martin Luther King, Jr.
"Nothing behind me, everything ahead of me, as is ever so on the road." - Jack Kerouac
"It's all a matter of perspective." Follow the daily flow: @scottrinck on Instagram. www.scottrinck.com www.instagram.com/scottrinck www.facebook.com/scottrinckenberger
