a visual story
"When life gives you rain, make puddlegrams"
A different angle
I consider myself a very lucky person to be living close to Amsterdam. Although I don't go to the city very often, when I do go I fall in love with the city a little bit more every time. Amsterdam is so beautiful and photogenic, that it is very hard to take a bad picture. Very hard... In this story I want to show you a "new" side of the city of canals; the reflected side. Hope you like it:) (All pictures in this story are taken and edited with iPhone5)
"We cannot see our reflection in running water. It is only in still water that we can see."
"Sometimes it's absolutely necessary to see the world upside down in order to see things right."
It's interesting to see how you can create a new dimension to a simple motive, simply by going down low.
"Life is only a reflection of what we allow ourselves to see."
And sometimes you have to enjoy the moment and simply capture what you see, traditional or not, beautiful still is simply beautiful:)
I also have a weekly article series called "My Amsterdam" on my blog, giving travel tips about what to see in the city. Have a look here: www.picturelyspoken.com/category/travel/my-amsterdam/
...for jumping through the puddles with me. Maybe you'll appreciate a rainy day more next time:) If you'd like to see more places and #puddlegrams, I keep a daily journal on Instagram: http://instagram.com/mariannehope http://www.picturelyspoken.com/ #stellerquotes
