Lemongrass Bostock Toast

toast that has been soaked in orange syrup and baked with frangipane, an almond cream.

Here, I added lemongrass for a subtle hint of soothing-ness and more toppings apart from toasted almonds. Pomegranate arils, almond butter, toasted almonds on almond cream. Am I going nuts?

2 slices bread An orange 1/2 c water 2 tbsp maple syrup 1 tsp lemongrass leaves -

The amalgam:

Peel the orange into segments

Bring water to a boil and add maple syrup, orange segments, and lemongrass.

Soak bread in this mixture.

Almond Cream

2 tbsp almond meal 1/4 c yogurt 1 tsp maple syrup pinch of salt -

the amalgam

mix and slather on bread

Bake at 170c for 20 minutes.

Sprinkle on 2 tsp silvered almonds at the 15th minutes mark, if you wish.

Adding pomegranate arils would hardly be a bad idea.

Serve warm and enjoy.
