BRIDGE TO NOWHERE
San Gabriel Mountains
The Bridge to Nowhere hike is a 10-mile round trip hike in the San Gabriel Mountains, 60 miles east of Los Angeles.
The trail is moderately easy unless you go during mid-day 90° weather...like we did!
The San Gabriel River runs through the East Fork Trail--to hot to bare, we swam in the shallow pools of cold water.
We finally made it to the bridge after more than 2 hours of hiking, playing, and sweating...
The bridge was built in 1936 but the Great Flood of March 1938 washed out the construction...it became abandoned.
You can schedule bungee jumping sessions off the bridge!
