Snow has covered the huge amount of ash that was released during the eruption...

..but it didn't cover all.

Eyjafjallajökull is located on the south coast near road 1, a couple of hours drive from Rjvk. It got famous in 2010 during the last eruption when it cancelled european flights for a month.
