Summer's Swan Song
Bright, warm days followed by breezy star-filled nights. Laughter and good food, sand between our toes. It's tempting to put this track on repeat.
Try as we might, the record keeps spinning. Evening pushes on into night, and the dawn's reluctance progressively lengthens the shadow of night.
Each vibrant petal, each blade of grass, each gentle babble are reminders of finite existence. Summer doesn't last forever. Nor should it. Its narrow life-span brings the Autumn, and life moves forward. Change is inevitable. Nothing lasts forever. Nor should it.
