Outside of Conscious Magazine, I am made up of all different parts. I possess some musical and artistic skills, mixed with passion and insecurity. At my very core, I am pensive and an introvert. I’m the youngest of three sisters raised in New Jersey, and from a family of strong women with strong values, which has thankfully been my greatest influence.
On a day off, you will probably find me out for a run, walking in Central Park or enjoying conversation over a cup of coffee. What I find most amazing about life, are the details. Everyone is unique and creative in his or her own way, something I highly appreciate and am often amazed by. Lastly, I love to laugh. I don’t go a day without laughter.
I think because I am knee deep in Conscious culture daily, that I have by default explored what it is to be conscious. Being more aware and educated, which means being more self-aware as well. Because of it, the way I have conversations with people is different, my thought process is different and how I conduct my life is different.
I love seeing the conscious movement grow stronger, and without jeopardizing style and creativity. It's still going to take some time, but I believe we are headed in the proper direction.
I am Rachael, and I am the Co-Founder and Editor-in-Chief at Conscious Magazine. Everyday, I get to be a megaphone for the inspiring stories we discover around the world. Outside of Conscious Magazine, I love alone time – spending time reflecting on the things around me, and trying to learn more about who I am and my role in society.
I also love spending time with my husband Jon (aka Conscious CEO), friends, and family. I love meeting with other social entrepreneurs to talk about dreams and ideas. I am also very curious, which is good and bad, but only bad when I spend too much time going down the Internet rabbit, which usually distracts me from my work.
I also enjoy snapping photos of beautiful places – I constantly interrupt my day, nights out, and afternoon runs to snap a photo, but it’s all good because I am capturing memories or taking a moment to appreciate life in that very second. Lastly, I value giving back and sacrificing for the greater cause.
I would love for people to ask – how can I make a difference? I would love to help that person find their journey in life. I’ve come across so many stories with so many different people leading the way, I hope that I could connect the dots for others to find their story.
Hello! My name is Sarah and I am the Director of Collaborations for Conscious Magazine. This is just a fun way of saying that I head up our partnerships department. Who am I? I am a bit of a Jane of All Trades. I am always seeking, searching and learning and I love to share my findings with my friends. It’s the simple things in life that make me happy good food, good wine, good friends and good conversations.
Throw in some coffee, volleyball, yoga and the outdoors and I am even happier! Most in life I value the connection and time spent with my family and friends. Experiences mean more to me than things.
I am truly a people person and I value human connection. I love to learn, listen, watch, observe and ask lots of questions - I am genuinely curious about other people’s stories. At the end of the day I value being able to help, teach and give!
When it comes to unplugging and fostering conscious and compelling conversation in my everyday life, here are a few tips I try to follow: Look Up and Turn Down….the music that is. You would be amazed at what you can learn when you look up from your phone, take the headphones off and absorb the world around you. What you discover might surprise you.
