Spiced with nutmeg and cinnamon, these muffins are a bright welcome to fall.

Ingredients

1 1/2 c flour 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp baking soda 1 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp cinnamon 1/2 tsp nutmeg 1 stick (1/2 c) butter, softened 3/4 c sugar 1 large egg 3 Granny Smith apples (peeled and sliced) Caramel sauce

Begin with the

In a medium bowl combine the flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Sift together to mix thoroughly.

In a separate large bowl - cream together the butter and sugar. Add egg and mix well.

Combine your dry and wet bowls into one, and stir gently. Be careful not to over-mix.

It will lead to tough muffins.

Fold in the sliced apples...

In a muffin pan, fill cups approximately 3/4 full.

Bake at 350 degrees, for 15-20 mins. Muffins are ready when the top is a light, golden brown and the center is cooked through.
