The roads were unforgiving and the climbs steeped in failures before us. On and on we went, only looking back to taunt the championed lands. We were immortal.
There was an aggression in the air our souls had missed. Breathing became a drug. The high only added a sense of euphoria to our daily plunders. We were free.
