UMMER'S NOT OVER YET, BUT THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT THE COOL EVENINGS AND SEPTEMBER'S PROMISE OF ESSAYS AND DUE DATES THAT MAKES IT FEEL LIKE SHE'S QUIETLY ON HER WAY OUT.

does everyone get caught in the end-of-summer dilemma? it's the result of the fear that you've squandered your once endless summer, that golden sea of dawns and sunsets and dusks. you feel compelled to make the most of summer now, now that the horizon has become a coastline - but how best to do it? is a day spent alone a day misspent? is a day spent indoors ignorantly ungrateful? is working late at a summer job a milestone experience, or is it early-onset adulthood that has no place in summer's hazy lust for life? should I be having a picnic? should I be studying? that's how I feel, anyway.
