In the driftless area of Wisconsin, the third weekend in August is reserved for bluegrass. My boyfriend's family has been going to the same festival for over 10 years. This was my second year and it was just as fun and magical as the first. I'm already dreaming of next year.
We spent Friday exploring the grounds - checking out various camps, getting our first dose of bluegrass, and saying hi to all the animals at the Blue Goose. Oh, and getting body-painted. It is a festival after all.

Saturday means Bloody Mary Bar at Larryfest. What started as a way to help repair damages after a flood one year has since turned into a staple of the weekend. The girls donate all proceeds directly back to the farm. It's their way of saying thank you and it speaks to the spirit of the festival.

(They also do screwdrivers if bloodies aren't your thing)
Break time in the back bar.
Bye, bye Larry. I miss you already.
