August 14, 2014

We headed out on a sunny afternoon.

It didn't stay sunny for long.

The road became increasingly treacherous...

I warily took some Dramamine.

We climbed higher and higher; mountains on one side, a plunge into the Pacific on the other.

Terrifying, certainly, but the view was worth the nausea (thanks for nothing, Dramamine).

Somewhere around the halfway point, I stopped clutching the armrest and found my zen.

I got in touch with my inner Earth Mother via poncho.

The views were straight out of a fairy tale.

As we were leaving, the sun peeked out from behind the clouds. It was Big Sur's grand finale.

We were exhausted at the end of our drive. Luckily, there was pie.
