Ever find yourself wondering how to use text in your story? Well, wonder no more. Our designers have put together a few tricks on how to be creative with text.

Be thoughtful with your placement. If you're placing text over a photo, make sure the image has enough negative space to ensure your text is readable.

1

Negative space is the space around and between the subject(s) of an image. Here, the negative space is the sky.

Here it is both the sky

and the surf.

Experiment with glyphs to add design elements to your story. A glyph is a symbol, letter or character in a font and can be found right in your keyboard. Example: ~ + > / - * •

Play around with font sizes and styles. Try adding spaces between your letters, using all caps, or making your title really big and your subtitle really small.

Amazing! I have a question though! What should I do in order to add more pieces if text which are editable in font and on their own? I have found only one layout in which there are three seperate texts (one of which is a line of under scores). Is there a trick?

  • Steller

Hi @LabNoon, currently there is no way to add another text field to the page. Thanks for your feedback though, it's definitely something we're thinking about including!

🙌🙏 thank you team Steller for the tips!!

I would add: be sure to make the text readable! If there is so much light, maybe white is not the best choice. For example. And if the scene is dark... Black for letters is not a good choice at all.

can you move text up and down on photos? I found that sometimes the centered text doesn't always look good on certain photos, like Yosemite.

I have only just found these tips and tricks and other books. Thank you so much!

How do you add clickable links within the text? I have looked at all the tutorials and tips and have found nothing. I have typed in the complete URL and even when I save the story I don't see it clickable. I would like to know before I publish my first story. Thank you.

These are great suggestions - but some directions on HOW to do them would be nice. I haven't figured out how to change the location, color, or size of text. How do you do that?

  • Stella_11

agree! how to change the location of the text box?
