The lowest point in North America at 282ft below sea level: Badwater Basin in Death Valley National Park!
I mean…
Death Valley is a wild, wild place with such extremes! Hottest temperature ever (reliably) recorded in the world was here at Badwater Basin! But, venture up the mountains during the same time of year and you just may find snow. Nighttime during winter brings bone-chilling temps, even.
It’s also the largest national park in the lower 48. With over 3 million+ acres, there’s just SO much to see and marvel at.
If you get SUPER lucky, you can witness Badwater Basin with water (like I did this past year)!
I was fortunate enough to see Lake Manly, in Baswater Basin at Death Valley National Park, when it reappeared for the first time in SO many yearsssss!
😮 It was SO phenomenal to see so much water amid the hottest place on earth AND lowest place in the country!
