It feels strange sharing these stories
now, weeks later as we edge into
August, but week twenty three was the
first week of June, and week eleven of
this new way of living, as Scotland
moved into phase one of lockdown
easing. While able to go out more than
once a day for exercise, we still
couldn’t travel outside our local area
at this stage, so it was another week
of local walks, starting with a pink-
tinged sunset walk along the beach on
Monday night.

This week’s highlight was a trip
to the lads’ groomer, so this
crazy scruff would soon be a
lockdown memory.

lagoons’ industrial past. No lorries
here these days, so I always

Cafés were able to open for
takeaway, so when we were in
town on the Friday for the lads’

The first vegan banana cake since
before lockdown, from Cowan &
Sons, accompanied by a ginger
beer. We sat on a bench by the
Water of Leith, enjoying this
simple freedom.
