at sunrise
The Taj
Actually, our first good look at India's
7th wonder was in the evening light
from a rooftop bar

Up close it didn't look real

The perfect symmetry is odd against
the rickety city of Agra

From this perspective the colliding of
worlds was clear - rich and poor, ancient
and modern, the Taj a permanent
fixture against a developing skyline
At 4am the next day we walked from our homestay to the
entrance to watch the sunrise
The next morning we woke at 4am to see the
We stuck around in the
grounds well into the early
morning watching the
changing light illuminate
the mausoleum from every
different angle
Reluctantly we returned to the gates to
leave  and took one last photo of the Taj
now that day was fully broken
