The Levada walks of Madeira are signposted trails
that follow the islands irrigation channels through
incredible landscapes.

The Levadas divert rainwater from the mountains
down to farmland and towns. They allow access to
parts of the island that would otherwise be
impossible on foot.

that flowed across the path.
