The Caribbean
VISITING
,
Before the world shut
down, my husband and I
went on a short Caribbean
cruise. We visited five
different islands during the
cruise: Aruba, Curaçao,
Bonaire, St. Lucia, and St.
Kitts.

Here are some scenes from
our travels.

A Caribbean
Cruise
,
Stop One:
Aruba
,
Our cruise began in the
ABC islands, a group of
small, arid islands that are
part of the Netherlands.

Our first stop was Aruba,
the “A” in the ABC islands.
During our brief visit to
Aruba, we walked around
the capital of Orenjestad
and bought some local
alcohol. Then, we took a
public bus to a beautiful
beach where we relaxed
under one of Aruba’s
famous divi divi trees for a
couple of hours.

Stop 2:
Curacao
,
Proceeding in non-
alphabetical order, our next
stop was the “C” island of
the ABC Islands.

On Curaçao, we walked
across the famous Queen
Emma Bridge and admired
the colorful buildings in the
capital city of Willemstad.
We also had cocktails that
were made with the island’s
famous Blue Curaçao
liqueur.

Stop Three:
Bonaire
,
Bonaire, the “B” of the ABC
Islands, received an A+
from us. We loved the
peaceful, laidback
atmosphere of this island.

We took a $20 ferry to a
small island called Bonaire
Klein. We snorkeled off the
beach and took a quick walk
around the capital city of
Kralendijk.

Stop Four:
St. Lucia
,
St. Lucia was our first non-
ABC island of the trip. This
independent country is
lusher and greener than the
Dutch Caribbean islands.

On St. Lucia, we explored
the capital city of Castries
before walking to a
beautiful beach near the
one of island’s small
airports.

Stop Five:
St. Kitts
,
The independent country
of St. Kitts and Nevis was
our final stop of the cruise.
This small nation consists
of two different islands.

It was raining during most
of our time here, so we
visited a church in the
capital of Basseterre on St.
Kitts and then enjoyed rum
punch at a bar by the port.
