I had pretty low expectations coming into this year but I couldn’t foresee the the utter sh*t show this year would bring. 🙃
Thankfully, it wasn’t all bad. There were many magical moments that wouldn’t have happened because of the pandemic. Today I honour those moments and look forward to many more in the upcoming year 🥰
I love long distance travel. It is so much fun for me so I definitely took advantage of this trip. This was also the first trip I wore a mask (and it wouldn’t be my last 😅)
I’m a night owl so coming back super jet lagged helped me really appreciate early mornings more. I even started working out early too. I hope I can keep this up next year 🥰
Right before the restrictions came in, Maame Esi, Afua, Nana Yaa, and I took a spur of the moment weekend trip to this city. I honestly can’t thank them enough for whisking me away. ♥️
Yep, I was one of the first people to have a quarantine birthday. It wasn’t all that bad: I got a deserted Midtown, some wonderful family who I haven’t seen in years (& was stuck in the country), and desserts from one of my favourite places! All good! 😂
I generally have enjoyed this, a lot! There are so many advantages to doing this and it has allowed me to have other adventures I couldn’t have had if I were commuting. Still, I do still miss seeing my ELC buddies on everyday: Danika, Emma and Anna! 🤗
What a moment to witness. I have a lot feelings that I cannot express in words. But I hope this will serve as a reminder that Black lives always and will continue to matter.
I have a story for this that is still in my drafts (sorry 😅) but this was literally the perfect weekend away from the city. Jeremy and Julie, we should do this again in the winter though
This was another great example of how strong my expat community is: the Meikles offering me to stay with after years of my not seeing them. This was such a breath of fresh air, thank you!
