Week sixteen brought bluer skies on our
local walks. This was week four of
lockdown, and we’d settled into our new
routines. The sunshine helped, as did the
longer evenings. Sunsets over the Forth.
We were so grateful for our daily walks;
these quiet moments in nature when we
could briefly ‘pause’ the world beyond.

We usually walked together, but this
was a solo walk to the harbour. The
light was gorgeous. I was conscious of
other people walking alone, pausing
like me to take in the view, socially
distanced. Wondering if they were
simply alone, or perhaps lonely.

I told you there’d be more
swans coming up in these
stories... this pair have
made their home at the pond
at the ash lagoons.

Week by week, new green life was
creeping through these stretches of
woodland at the lagoons. Every walk
here signalling spring gathering pace
around us.
