MY BEST SHOTS
through the years,
part 1
,
I started shooting with my
iPhone (4, I think) in 2012,
when I was about 14. In 2013
my parents gifted me with
my very first camera and I
haven’t stopped
photographing since.

Now at 22, and a handful of
different cameras later, I’ve
gone through my full photo
archive and selected some of
my favorites from each year.
Or at least, photos I was
really proud of at at the time.
🙃

I hope you enjoy!

2013
,
In 2013 I was really into
baking, food photography,
still lives, and beach
landscapes (I was still living
in California at the time).

This was also the year I
began experimenting a bit
with portrait photography,
using my little brothers as
guinea pigs.

2014
,
2014 was um... not the best
year of my life. To say the
least. For this reason, not too
many photos from this
period really stick out to me.

Oh, and this was also the
year I visited Paris for the very
first time.

Travel photography and still
life were the main genres I
explored this year.

2015
,
In early 2015 I focused
especially on portraits and
still lives. As the year
progressed (I moved to
Paris in August), I began to
experiment more and
more with travel
photography.

This was also the year I
began shooting on film. I
started out with disposable
cameras around the time I
moved to France.

2016
,
I shot on disposable
cameras for a decent
portion of 2016, and was
into a very ~dreamy~,
slightly blurry aesthetic.

As time went on I began to
shoot more portraits
digitally, but still going for
the same sort of vibe.

2017
,
2017 was a huge year for
my photography: about
halfway through I
upgraded to a Canon 5D
Mark iii (the camera I still
use today) and for
Christmas my mom
surprised me with a proper
film camera (no more need
to use disposables!).

Needless to say I shot A
LOT, particularly portraits,
travel, and landscapes.

2018
,
In 2018 I began to really
embrace using photography
as a way to capture
moments of daily life... youth,
the memories my friends
and I were making together,
etc. I became less concerned
with aesthetic and more
focused on being present
and enjoying this time of my
life... with a camera in hand,
obviously. 😉
