Svalbard is a Norwegian archipelago between mainland Norway and the North Pole. One of the world’s northern most inhabited areas, it's known for its rugged, remote terrain of glaciers and frozen tundra sheltering polar bears, Svalbard reindeer and Arctic foxes.
