Crawford Lake Trail
The pristine waters of Crawford Lake
Conservation Area have drawn people to its
shores for hundreds of years. The rare
meromictic lake, with its surrounding
boardwalk, is nestled in lush forests atop the
stunning Niagara Escarpment.
,
The views are truly special, and not just on
account of the scenery. This is what's known
as a MEROMICTIC LAKE, which means the
layers of water here don't intermix. Thus the
deepest parts of Crawford Lake have been
undisturbed for centuries.
,
A boardwalk trail circles the lake,
protecting the environment while
allowing access.
