Atchafalaya Basin and

through Breaux
Bridge to Lake Martin

Lafayette is the 4th largest
city in the state. It was
founded in 1821 by Jean
Mouton under the name
“Vermilionville” and
renamed to Lafayette in

New Iberia
After a few stops around
Lafayette, it was off through the
fields of sugarcane and thirty
minutes down the bayou to
New Iberia!
Nueva Iberia was founded
by the Spanish in 1779
right along Bayou Teche
