In my home town the
disappearance of the daily throng of
visitors brought with it a new
landscape and a new energy.
Without that human presence those
same spaces now felt more intimate,
more personal but they also felt
hauntingly sombre. It was an
atmosphere I wanted desperately to
capture in photographs.
